Discover America Canada’s media awards recognizing the travel media for outstanding coverage of consumer, trade, photographic and online coverage of the USA are now officially open for entries.

Best USA Travel Destination – Consumer
Entries must be from a Canadian print publication and cover a USA travel destination and / or attraction.
Best Travel Trade Article
Entries must be featured in a Canadian Travel Trade publication.
Best Photography/Video
Best Digital photo. The work will be judged on composition, technical quality and ability to evoke a place, moment or sentiment.

Best online travel story about a USA travel destination or attraction
Beѕt Social Media/Influencer Post
Best online travel post on a USA travel destination or attraction
The winners will be recognized and awarded during our Discover America Canada Day event in October 2023 where we will celebrate the media’s contribution in the above categories towards the overall development, promotion and exposure of tourism in the USA.
A special thank you to Air Canada, the official sponsor of the contest who have graciously provided one complimentary air seat to each of the winners, valid system wide to any USA destination.
IMPORTANT DETAILS: Articles, posts and photography MUST pertain to a DAC member destination or product and be published from September 01, 2022 – August 15, 2023 to qualify and may be submitted by the journalist or photographer directly, via a DMO representative or DAC member. Limit of 3 entries per category and/or per person.

A panel of judges will be selected and will represent a cross section of professional experience throughout the industry. An individual may not serve as a judge if they were involved in any way in the submission process or employed by a publication entered in a category or categories. Each judge will have a minimum of 3 weeks to review & grade each submission relative to the category definition & criteria such as overall quality of writing, style, creativity, etc.
While DACC does send notification and reminders to DACC members to submit Media Award nominations, it is not the responsibility of DACC to actively seek out Media Award nominations or reach out to non-members about the Media Awards. The Media Awards program was created as a benefit for DACC members and a way to celebrate the partnership between the media and our industry and reward the people telling our members stories.
