TORONTO, ON (May 06, 2025) – It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the loss of our dear friend, teammate and colleague Casey Canevari who passed away suddenly last week following a medical emergency in Toronto. Casey passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Casey was a cherished member of our industry and a non-voting board member of the Discover America Committee Canada—known for his boundless energy, optimism, and genuine warmth. He was always proactive in recommending new committee members, collaborating on events with the organization on behalf of Brand USA and as an active IPW chair member. His passion for travel and his unwavering commitment to welcoming Canadian visitors to the USA were evident in everything he did. He showed up time and again, even in recent months, never wavering in his dedication or spirit. Casey’s legacy will live on in the connections he built, and he will be deeply missed.
Casey touched so many lives, and his warmth, commitment and contributions to Discover America Canada will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Susan Webb, President Discover America Canada shared, “Whether you were a tour operator, airline, DMO, industry association, journalist, marketing firm, government representative, OTA, loyalty program, or travel agent—Casey made you feel special. He made you feel like more than just a Brand USA partner, he made you feel like a friend. Casey was deeply involved in the Discover America Canada Committee (DACC), where he played a vital role in developing ideas, bringing in new members, creating engaging events, and forging new partnerships. Travel was his passion. He was a true ambassador for Brand USA. His impact on the Canadian market was remarkable and lasting. He will be missed—deeply—both personally and professionally by the DACC board members and organization.”
Discover America Canada will be keeping everyone posted on a celebration of life that will be hosted for Casey in Toronto soon, so that his Canadian friends can come together to honour him.
